Proceeds From Queen of Peace High School Rally for a Cure Volleyball Match will be Donated to LCMH

On October 8th and 9th, Queen of Peace High School played host to Mother McAuley in a rousing series of volleyball matches to “Rally for a Cure.” The freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball squads squared off to compete for a good cause: to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

 

The “Rally for a Cure” matches attracted enthusiastic crowds to “pack the place” in pink. Tee shirts were sold, face painting took place, and several raffles were held in support of this annual fundraising effort. The event raised over $2,700 which will be donated to the Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation/Beverly Breast Cancer Walk. Over the past five years, the two schools have alternated hosting the event, and together they have raised nearly $20,000 to donate to this important cause.

ABOUT THE BEVERLY BREAST CANCER WALK-The annual event has raised more than $1.5 million for breast cancer treatment. All proceeds benefit Little Company of Mary’s Nationally Accredited Comprehensive Breast Health Center. The Accredited Comprehensive Breast Health Center provides the latest technology and treatment approaches from an expert, caring medical team led by Breast Surgeon, Dr. Nancy Taft.
