Influenza Vaccine Update. Please visit www.flu.gov to receive up-to-date information on flu influenza.
If you are pregnant you should get vaccinated against the flu. The flu shot given during pregnancy has shown to protect mom and her baby. Pregnant women should not receive the nasal spray flu vaccine.
What can everyone do to prevent the flu?
- Clean - hands frequently to prevent to prevent the spread of germs. Viruses can live two hours or longer on surfaces, clean frequently touched surfaces like keyboards, doorknobs, phones and desks with a disinfectant
- Cover - Your cough and sneeze with a tissue or sleeve, not your hand.
- Contain - Your germs. Stay home if you are sick.
Please note: For the safety of your family and loved ones as well as all of our families in our Family Birth Center, visitors may be limited during the flu season. If you have been exposed to flu-like symptoms, please refrain from visiting your loved ones until after your symptoms subside. If you are shown to have symptoms before entering the unit, you will not be allowed to enter. We thank you for your understanding to keep all of our patients healthy during the flu season.
